Welcome, Nau mai, Haere mai, Ano

The sun rises, the moon shines and here we are changing parts of this website in the name of business upgrading and updating.

We still have bottles of A Taste of Hangi Oil to add to your steamer water or oven dish.  I saw an advertisement promoting cookware made of stone to cook on elements.  It looked ideal for cooking hangi.  One would still need to add the hangi oil to achieve that unique hangi flavour.

We have created  A Taste of Hangi Pie  using our own pastry recipe and pie contents.  They are real yummy reka.

We have developed A Taste of Hangi Tortiti  a hangi flavoured sausage.  We entered the Hellers Sausage Competition to Win a Trip To New York.  Hellers took the easy way out and judged on people's popularity rather than the  taste and flavours of the sausages created.

Since we have moved out of the Kaikai Korna retail premises,  the latest addition to the big picture is a return to the Aunty Umu Caravan and rather than visit Festivals and Food Shows, we now have a Catering arm called The Keg Hangi  25 Crew and the Keg Hangi 200 Crew.

Finally there is the one other development to be tried and tested and that is to supply A Glass of Hangi- in a glass jar where the food has been cooked,  flash frozen or preserved, then packed in an airfree sealed  jar.  So one opens a  jar, reheats in a pot or a microwave and has an instant hangi meal,  bombarding taste buds with memories of other hangi eaten some where, some time. The potential to flavour food with a hangi taste is everywhere.
